Could this be a reason why cannabis isn't legalized in the US for recreational use?

Centuries ago when tobacco and alcohol was in the top drug on the market in the US, people never thought of the risks when using it for recreational use. Throughout the years the US Government had the power to regulate it the best way they can that doesn't violate Constitutional rights. We can't ban these substances though because of the companies constitutional rights. With cannabis and other drugs there were always illegal in the US for recreational use and it's going to stay that away as long as the medical science is there. There have been numerous research by scientists that tell that cannabis is dangerous just like any other drug and it should stay illegal when it comes to recreational use, also to prevent "mom and pop" businesses.
