In what way has the Democratic Party attempted to protect your US Constitutional rights?

Many Democrats believe the US Constitution is an outmoded document and that we need something different to reflect our post-modern society. Some, like Hillary Clinton, support the US all but scrapping the Constitution and, instead, using the U.N. Human Rights Charter as the standard.
