Why would someone leave a box of cookies at the bus stop?

I'm sure many of us would have ate them all in a minute, I would have, but that's not the question. The person might have hated the organic brand's taste. Most all organic cookies I've had tasted rather bad. There's always the chance they ate one and disintigrated, or a bird flew over head and added an ingredient, or there was a trapdoor. Or a bird flew overhead and took a crap in they're beloved cookies and they were so distraught they disintegrated and the ashes feel into a trap door.
